I am a Chartered Accountant and Virtual CFO in Tauranga. For more than twenty years I have turned financial chaos into clarity, first for large organisations, and these days for purpose-led ones.
The real thread started at nine, with a club. My best friend and I rounded up the neighbourhood kids, built a treehouse, and raised money for charity. Even then, what I loved most was noticing what was not quite right and setting about fixing it: gather people around a cause, see the shape of what needs building, turn the chaos into a plan, and get on with it.
I have never been able to separate care from competence. A good cause done carelessly still lets people down.
